LOTTE Advanced Materials
Samsung
Electronics has sold more than 10 million units of its latest
smartphone Galaxy S8, S8+ worldwide in just three weeks since its April
21 release. The flagship smartphone not only sports elegant design
characterized by its expanded screen known as Infinity Display but also a
host of innovative solutions such as face recognition security that
outsmarts iris scanning and Bixby, a voice assistant powered by AI
(artificial intelligence).
The Galaxy S8 and S8+, whose popularity shows no sign of abating, is incorporating LOTTE Advanced Materials’ cutting-edge ‘metal adhesive plastic’ into its components. LOTTE Advanced Materials, which has provided mobile housing material tailored for Samsung Electronics’ smartphones, is now offering its newly developed material suited for the drastically upgraded smartphones.
The metal adhesive material developed by LOTTE Advanced Materials can be tightly joined with metal with etched surface through insert injection molding. This special plastic material, therefore, can be effectively used for applications that require a mix of metals and plastic materials. In addition, the new material has excellent durability, as it can withstand the chemical treatment of metals such as anodizing, and a high level of quality reliability. While mobile handsets, when manufactured with metals alone, have limitations as a communication device, LOTTE’s metal adhesive material extends and broadens the features of such devices.
As mobile phones continue to evolve at a fast clip, LOTTE Advanced Materials’ material technology is also getting advanced by the day. LOTTE Advanced Materials’ innovative material technology will move forward further -- not only for mobile solutions but also for diverse applications.
